CLEANSERS & EXFOLIATORS

Cleansing is the most important step for every routine and should be performed twice daily morning and evening.

Care should be taken to ensure that the correct cleanser is used to suit the individual skin types and concerns.

BENEFITS:

  • Remove surface dirt
  • Pollution,
  • Makeup
  • Residue of products previously used on the skin, such as residue of a night cream or sunscreen.

CORRECT

Corrective serums are used to both correct and help prevent concerns such as:

  • Fine lines and Wrinkles,
  • Loss of firmness
  • Coarse texture,
  • Visible pores
  • Congestion
  • Acne
  • Redness.

Almost all our serums are introduced into a routine gradually as they contain high percentages of ingredients that could potentially create irritation if too much is used too soon.

Through continued use, the skin strengthens, and additional serums may be introduced until all recommended serums are used as directed by a professional skin therapist/aesthetician.

We would always recommend a professional consultation to be sure this is a progressive approach to achieving the desired outcome.

HYDRATE

Hydration is a critical step in any skin care routine and needs to be addressed both day and night.

All skin types, even excessively oily skin can become dehydrated.

To hydrate the skin effectively, skin moisturisation consists of 3 main mechanisms:

  • Infusing the skin with humectants to attract and draw water to the skin.
  • Nourishing the skin by providing the appropriate lipids to improve the skin’s softness, flexibility and smoothness.
  • Retain, ensuring that these ingredients are able to stay in the skin.

Retaining involves sealing the skin, using ingredients that can form a light barrier to help the skin retain the moisture. All  moisturisers are non-comedogenic and therefore suitable for acne-prone skin.

PROTECT

The sun’s UV is the main cause of skin cancer.

Too much UV exposure also causes sunburn, tanning, premature ageing and eye damage.

You can see the sun’s light. You can feel the sun’s heat.

But you can’t see or feel the sun’s UV radiation. UV can reach you directly from the sun. It can also be reflected off different surfaces and scattered by particles in the air. UV radiation is the most significant factor in the development of ROS and contributes to 80-90% of skin aging.

However, sun protection does not protect the skin from other sources of free radical production and oxidative stress such as poor diet, pollution smoking , stress and lifestyle choices. Therefore, adding antioxidants as well as UV protection, to your daily routines play a crucial role as they protect and reduce the damaging effects of free radicals leading to oxidative stress.

EYES

The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate and can be prone to showing the signs of ageing before the rest of the face.

Specifically formulated to be applied to the skin around the delicate eye contour, they contain specific ingredients to target concerns around the eye.

Prior to the use of eye creams, it is important to ensure the skin on and around the eyes has been thoroughly and correctly cleansed.
